Notes: The 1982 BILINGUAL French & English language edition of Tardys important work on French clocks (first published in French in 1949), includes a full translation (by Alexander Ballentyne) of the French part III [on pages 13 to 218) [Note BHM 11192 although carrying a title similar to BHM 15587 has only translattins of the the image captions of the french original edition]. This is then followed by an expanded version of the 'rest of the world' including text by Plomp on the Netherlands, by Mrs Pierre Baudin-Tytgat, and additions by Allix and Bonnet on British clocks. The 'Clocks the Forld Over' section (pages 219-522) has chapters on the Netherlands (p 221-294), Belgium (p.295-368), England (p.369-458), Scottland (p. 459-468), Ireland (p. 469-480), USA (p.481-516) and Canada (p. 517-522). The rest of the world (notably including Germany and Italy) is NOT covered in 'the world over'. There is a summary Table of Content at the end, but there is neither Index nor bibliography which are promised 'in a further volume(which was never produced).
