Notes: The book contains descriptions with Good illustrations of a large number of astronomical instruments, including the famous huge mural quadrant with two of Brahes clocks: "The clocks are such that they show with precision, not only the minutes of the hour, but even the seconds part, and they rival the uniformity of the revolutions of the heavans. This, it will be admitted is not easey to attain, nevertheless, with care, it is, in a measure possible ... We have, ready at hand, four clocks of this kind, and of these the largest works by three wheels, of which the greatest is of pure solid cast brass and has 12000 teeth. It is two cubbits in diameter." {Later, in 1610 Brahe complains that the clocks were found to vary} [Baillie p.29 1598]
