Notes: Giuseppe Candido, vescovo, scienziato ed orologiaio La Voce di Hora, Dec 2011 Giuseppe Candido (1837-1906) was an Italian Catholic bishop, with a genuine artistic skill - he was a talented painter, too - a scientist and a pioneer of the use of electricity in public timekeeping. In 1870, he designed and made a network of electric public clocks for the city of Lecce, in Southern Italy. This paper illustrates his contributions to horology.
