Horological Science Chapter #161
Purpose:
The purpose of this Chapter is to foster informal communications among those interested in the technical aspects of horology. Our goals are primarily educational. The emphasis of the chapter is to publish Science based horological articles that are: too technical for publication in the larger periodicals, a work in progress that is desiring peer review, or horological research that is offered for all to consume. Member contributed articles are the life blood of our newsletter.
Horological Science Newsletter:
The newsletter is published 5 times a year. Typically, it includes notes or articles regarding results of experiments, concepts, technical questions and solutions, mathematical analysis, references to other publications, etc.. No advertising is accepted, although sources of materials and equipment, etc., for experimentation may be mentioned.
MEETINGS:
We generally meet two times a year. Once at the NAWCC National Convention, and the second is at the NAWCC Seminar. Meetings are not the emphasis of this chapter.

Chapter Membership:
Chapter membership is available to members of the NAWCC. See the NAWCC website for membership information.
Membership in Chapter 161 includes a subscription to the Horological Science Newsletter (Five issues per year).
Chapter dues for 2020 are US: $25, Elsewhere: US$45. Payment for multiple years is encouraged - just multiply the amount for the country where you live by the number of years desired.
For 2020 we will also provide HSN in electronic form - (PDF). The electronic subscription will be 10US$/year anywhere in the world. If you would like both paper and electronic version of the newsletter, please add 5$/year to the paper costs above. The electronic copy may include color and may include supplementary material. It may also arrive a bit earlier than a mailed issue. An email will be sent to those opting for the electronic issue, when each issue becomes available. The email would include download information. Please let David Spong know if you are interested at the email address below.
